SCRAP

Although SCRAP NYC's main purpose is to help people, the program is also beneficial for the environment.

SCRAP NYC

RefashionNYC is a free program that allows New Yorkers to donate clothes. They have installed refashionNYC recycling bins in almost 1,300 neighborhoods across the city. In addition, SCRAP NYC has also partnered with other organizations to ensure that donated garments make it to individuals in need. One such organization is the Xavier Mission. This organization collects clothing for men and women living in New York City.  The Xavier Mission accepts jeans size medium to XXXL, handbags, shoes, and other new and gently used men’s and women’s clothing. They also ask that donors not send in undergarments.

Donating

Donating pre-loved clothing is a great way to reduce New York's textile waste. In addition, there are many charities that will pick up donations for free.
